Signal Private Messenger crashes at sms verification (workaround found) [answered]
- Os version: Nuuksio.
- Hardware: xperia x
- Software: Signal Private Messenger (Android)
So, Signal used to work, but since OS update i have to re-register. Now, it is mandatory to register through SMS verification, at first at least. But when the SMS arrives, Signal crashes, and the procedure has to start all over again. The "call me" option becomes available only after the SMS has been sent, so it doesn't apply. I haven't found a work-around. Anyone else?
Android settings: contact access both enabled and disabled, makes no difference.
So nobody else is able to get signal working?

Here is, how it worked at my device after installing "signal" from aptoide: 1. Remove SIM-Card and put it into another mobile phone. 2. Start both phones. 3. Connect to wlan with your phone without SIM-Card. 4. Start "signal"-messenger on your phone without SIM-Card and ask for activation code through SMS. 5. The activation code appears on the second phone. Type in the code on your first phone without SIM. 6. That's it, switch both pones off and put back SIM-Card to your (first) phone.
:-)
- Uninstall WhatsApp ;-)
