Hi,

Does anyone know how PDF files can be opened from WhatsApp? Tapping on the image preview only prompts the message that now PDF viewer is installed. The file is also not shown in the Documents app itself.

The trick which works for playing videos (opening the file from WhatsApp, then opening the sharing menu) does not change the situation too.

Hi,

You can open "File Browser" native app and get into "android_storage/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Documents". Click on the document and select "open" in top menu. PDF will be opened into native "Documents" app.

Maybe this is not the best way, but it works fine.

Regards

It might also work to use this patch https://coderus.openrepos.net/pm2/project/virgi-sailfish-patch-trackerpathsettings and add said path to the tracker. then it should pop up in the Documents app as well.

I have installed Adobe Acrobat reader for Android, with same effect. Aptoide store has it.
