leaving Sailfish / export adress list to iOS
I am leaving sailfish for different reasons (my xperia x is getting old and having to "flash" manually another phone is no option, additionally there is still no Wifi calling support (which is important for me) and many android apps just dont work. + over the time I have been using it there was unfortunately not any new useful Jolla app developed in my opinion). Thank you anyway for developing a "third" operation system and the experience. Is there at least a possibility to export data on the phone (photos, contacts) to apple iOS? Thank you and all the best Stranamore
At least with contact you could go into people app -> pulley menu -> select contacts -> pulley menu -> select all -> pulley menu -> share and send them to yourself via email. According to this you can import vcf files. Photos you could export to your computer via a USB cable and then import them back on the iPhone.
Good luck in the future!

I'm not a friend of cloud services per se, but connecting one's devices to one central instance that reliably stores contacts, calandar, conversations and others, seems the most logical step to me. MS Exchange does that job in my case, but will soon be replaced completely by my self-hosted nextcloud instance.
Speeking of nextcloud: that would also be my suggestion to the OP, because it's the cloud solution that can be used to share personal information with virtually all desktop and mobile operation systems. Once setup, changing devices or operating systems will be much easier.
ziellos ( 2020-04-30 11:20:45 +0200 )edit@ziellos and I am using still the buteo-syncml with Bluetooth. No need of Cloud, Exchange or massive overhead. No need of WLANs, routers or whatever. I'm doing it like it was done 15y ago. Unfortunately I think I am the only one on this planet doing it.
deloptes ( 2020-05-08 01:07:29 +0200 )editIf you are the only person using this technology, @deloptes, you have to tell @stranamore if and how he can use that to transfer photos and contacts from SFOS to iOS.
