I bought an Xperia 10 i4113 for the sole purpose of running sailfish. I have no other uses for it. Of course I had to try it out first, and of course I installed the updates. That just what you do. Today I made the decision to get it done, so I payed for the download sailfishX and started reading the instructions, which unlike the supported devices list I might ad, mentions quite clearly that you should not upgrade to Android 10, though nothing about what to do if you have done so. The solutions seem to downgrade by dubious means, which is further hindred by the small fact that I do now run Windose, for much the same reasons that I do not want to run Android, which seems to be required.

So, now I'd very much like to know what to do. Obviously I do not want a refund, as I have no other uses for the phone, as it's a downgrade compared to my current phone, I just want a solution, which shouldn't be too hard, as this has most certainly happened before.

Thanks in advance and best regards.

Edit: I finally got windows 10 up and running. Yes, I installed windows 7 first, because that's what I've got, but that of course won't do. Windows 8.1 or higher is requiret. sigh Anyway, installed Emma and well... I have to say that either I'm a blithering idiot, or this particular tool is utterly useless. Moving on to second flashtool suggested, hoping to have better luck with that.

Edit 2: I think I've done it. There's still a lot of testing to be done, but I think it works. God that was frustrating.

Borrow a Windows PC and downgrade the phone to Android 9, then install SFOS.

HI.

It's possible to downgrade your Xperia 10 by using the Flash tool which is both available for Linux, Windows and Mac: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php

It also include the Firmware Downloader tool called XperiFirm.

Just make you're that the firmware you're downloading starts with "53.0".

In most cases you can flash a different firmware (eg. a french one) to a Xperia device flashed with another firmware (eg. a Nordic one) as one as it for the same models. If the firmware doesn't match you'll be given an error and if the flashing goes wrong you should be able to reflash.

I've used it myself for multiple Xperia devices from Linux with success.

Don't hesitate to ask if you've further questions.

(I've removed the "bug" and "feature request" tags for you.)

@Louis Sorry for intruding here but is your Xperia 10 a Dual SIM I4113 as there is an .fsc in Flashtool database? link text Do you know of a workaround to use for Xperia 10 I3113 with Androxyde Flashtool as just elicits .fsc not found when trying to flash?

@aspergerguy I only have an XA2 so I can't answer your question.

@Louis Thanks for responding to my question, just didn't want anyone else wasting the amount of time I did as also wanted to change device region. Had to resort to Emma upon Windows to restore device to Android, as for some reason camera which worked under Android 9 & 10 refused to work at all under Sailfish OS.

I have to stop for today, this is simply too frustrating. I haven't got a clue what I'm doing and nothing works. I'll return tomorrow. Until then, thanks for the assistance.

You didn't technically help, as I couldn't get the flashtool for linux to work (I really hate JAVA), but hadn't it been for you, I'd probably have flashed the 53.1 version. I don't know what that would've done, but presumable nothing good.
