Hi all,

I hope I'm not the only one who uses the same smtp server for multiple e-mail accounts, am I?

I find it tedious having to type-in all smtp server details each and every time I'm adding an e-mail account to my Jolla, thus I would like to be able to select an existing smtp configuration for newly-configured pop/imap accounts instead.

Would that be possibile?

Thank you

I also have the same SMTP server for some accounts but I'm ok with entering settings each time as adding an account it's not something I do on a regular basis.

True, but some users might have a slightly complex set-up with random letters/numbers/symbols as username and/or password, so it might be easier to re-use an existing configuration ;-)

Yes would be nice to be able to define (send) identities once and link them to various email accounts.

I would like to see an option to just add those mail-addresses to the same setting and be able to choose the right mail-address/identity to send email from when sending mails. This is the way it works in e.g. thunderbird and I don't want to have multiple accounts as all mail-addresses share same inbox. I only need those identities to send with different sender-mails.

I think Kontact/Kmail does this very well: sending and receiving accounts are configured separately, while there is a separate "identity" responsible for setting which address an email you send is from. So when sending, you select identity and smtp account — except that these are usually selected automatically based on the folder you are viewing.
