Hi,

Does someone knows how the pictures and videos are synced to alien-dalvik?

I have Zenfolio app for Android to upload pics and vids to Zenfolio, but the android app doesn't see all of my pics/vids.

There are thumbnails (*.jpg) and tumbdata3 file under /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails/ but based on the dates that directory has been updated at each Jolla sw update. So at least I know if I get to update those then Zenfolio app will see my pics. But I haven't found anything about where the videos are synced.

Thanks.

Update: It seems the update occurs when Android (Google Play) account is modified. I had to logout from and login to Google Play during the weekend and my new pics and vids were synced to alien-dalvik and became visible by Android apps.

in my case it seems android is doing some kind of caching that is not being notified about changes in sailfish. for example in an android app, i see some photos i took with my camera. i go to sailfish gallery and delete the photos. i go back to the android app and still see the photos there.

some kind of synchronization is not happening.

Exactly this is what I say too. There is some kind of sync between android and sailfish. Based on logs it seems this sync has been initiated 2 times in my Jolla, both time during (after?) Jolla update. The question: How can we initiate this manually?

One workaround solution is to use KillDroid (thanks @pykape). With this native app possible to restart Android service on Jolla. After restart all the new pictures and videos are visible in Android apps (for example in Zenfolio). This confirms my observation that those pics and videos became visible in Android usually after sw upgrades.

Jolla, would it be possible to monitor the changes in Pictures and Videos folders, and update Android layer continuously? Or do a periodic update (5min)?

This is something that sometimes works, sometimes not. My use case is taking a picture with a camera and sharing it in Android Whatsapp. Sometimes I am able to attach image right away, sometimes I need to do tricks (kill Android etc.) to make it work. Why? When will this be fixed?
