The four icons which I have now set in home-screen to people, messages, mail and browser. Could this have more of them? There could be a scrolling list so I'd have more applications to run more easily

Not really happy on this approach as it blocks space for apps .... if it would be a scrolling list, what's the difference to just swipe to the app screen which allows you to sort your app icons?
