Page stack indicator when many pages

In some apps like Tweetian you may have so many pages on pagestack, that new ones won't be shown on screen as they don't fit in the row. In result you don't know how much of them are actually there on stack. Maybe it would make sense to introduce counter to show how many pages are there.

Moreover it would be good to pop all the pages (except the bottom one of course) with for example long press on page stack indicator.

Good idea - it could convert to showing a number after a say 5 pages are on the stack. :)

BTW, regarding long press behavior, I already have a question going for that you can vote for:

Suggestion: PageStackIndicator long press action

(in modRana, one can get quite deep sometimes and being able to get back to the map page simply by long pressing the page indicator would nice, double so if that was the default (but overrideable) well known behavior).

It is prefered that the apps are designed so that there are no too deep / infinite stacks: https://sailfishos.org/sailfish-silica/sailfish-application-pitfalls.html#unwieldy-page-hierarchy

for such large structures, listview based solution might be better.

@Acce sure, but still you won't prevent some certain use cases when many pages on the stack will be used

@fk_lx hmm, please add examples of such use cases to your question to clarify, giving comparison why listview based solution is not good in such case would further give the Jolla devs reason to consider it.

An example would be the Warehouse: When on the detail page of an app, click "More apps by XXX" and select a new app, where you can select "more apps by XXX" again. Thus you can go infinitely deep and add arbitrary pages which result in an endless page stack and hierarchy. The page title then is shifted right and not visible anymore. The display of the page stack should be limited to the visible area, if lager a count indicator could be displayed like: . . . . . . (+5) Search (cf. https://sailfishos.org/sailfish-silica/sailfish-application-pitfalls.html#unwieldy-page-hierarchy)

example is mentioned in OP. Tweetian. I really like this way of stacking for Twitter.
