To enhance the Jolla/SailfishOS social-media support and more enterprise-centric provision of services, a LinkeIn native client is needed. (a related question which lists many business-related requirements and needs for SailfishOS: https://together.jolla.com/question/20499/jolla-should-target-business-use-requirements-added/)

The client can be implemented with 3rd-party developers or in collaboration with Jolla and it should be integrated to system UI and services the same way as other SoMe-services (FB, Twitter, email, IM, etc).

Also, a LinkedIn account should be added to System settings to make it possible to integrate LinkedIn to other system functionalities (for this there is a related question already in Together)

Hmm, this sounds like an interesting project for our dev meets in Helsinki and Tampere, don't you think? We could start it at one of the meetups and continue from there.

That sounds excellent!! I just have the check my scheduling of other stuff this month, and truly hope that I can be able to join the event. In regards to LinkedIn support I haven't seen any related projects on-going so we would need to find a suitable open-source framework or code-base on ehich to build this. Actually in N9 I once had a very rudimentary client but it missed a lot of features and IMO has not been actively developed since.

What has happened since then?

Yes, I'm still interested to know if anyone plans an integration of LinkedIn with the contact book.

There is a feature-request post for this: https://together.jolla.com/question/20400/adding-linkedin-to-accounts/ So you may want to collect all ideas under that one just to keep upvotes undivided

I disagree, the need for LinkedIn native client and having a LinkedIn account in System > Accounts (to be used in Jolla or 3rd-party provided app) are diffrent requests as they can be implemented separately. Thus, this answer shouldn't be accepted as correct one.
