Viber can not see my contacts. [not relevant]

@Maddis Did you import your contacts to the phone or did you add them directly in the phone?

Looks to me that adding contacts directly to the phone or with some forms of import (like .vcf file) makes them show up in Viber or other android apps (some SIP apps), but if the contacts are synced via Exchange or Google these android apps do not see them.

All this is very strange ... I have all the same, copied the contacts from vcf file, viber 4.2.0.16. In 38 firmware jolla closed access to your contacts and calendar (Shortcuts ).

how do you make them show up in Viber by adding them into the phone? i have contacts sync via Exchange. then i tried wiping them out and adding contacts via VCF import. no luck. then i gave up and now i have my contacts synced via Exchange. i tried adding one contact manually to the phone and even that contact doesn't show up in Android (viber,whatsapp).
