No, it's not a joke, I sometimes need to read or lookup something in a kindle book on the go, even on a small screen like Jolla has. But there is no native app for Sailfish and using the web browser is not really an option. And although it works fine, I really don't want to use the Android Kindle app either.

So, here my question, could someone develop a native kindle app (probably only usable with online connection, without local storage option)? Or would there be any possibility to port the app "Erudite" for the N9 to Sailfish? Maybe the original developer of Erudite, Michael Sheldon (mikeasoft.com), is even reading this suggestion...

And of course, other native ebook readers would be welcome as well.

Rather than supporting the f*cking proprietary MOBI format by Amazon, wouldn't it be more practical to have at least an epub viewer?

Many people have Amazon books ;). So it would be best to support both.

@melg01 a native kindle app would be fantastic i find the Android app top slow and a bit bloated for what it needs to do.

On his Twitter page Michael Sheldon said that won't port Kindle to Sailfish because the Android app is working so good.

Well, Michaels N9 app Erudite works very well too, this is why I asked for a port. And I still think, we should push native apps as much as possible.

That's also my opinion but maybe you should talk to him ;).
