When typing (text/email/...) using the virtual keyboard, it is quit usual to make mistakes, even though the correct word is suggested in the row above the keyboard.

It would be nice to have the option to use the first suggested word, which is often the correct one.

Only optional! it is sooo annoying!

I too would find this very useful. Swipe down on keyboard hides the keyboard, so how about any other direction swipe to choose first available word? I think right swipe would feel natural as you type from left to right.

That would be good IF wrong prediction can be canceled easily. In Android's SwiftKey it's quite difficult to my memory, in BB10 keyboard it is very elegant, basically you learn that double-backspace (one to kill auto inserted space) after wrong prediction returns what you typed.

Hm, yeah that sounds good, or maybe just swipe right to insert and swipe left to cancel? Or both :) Regardless of how you implement it I think the feature would be very useful. Because now I never press the suggestions as it's simply faster and easier to ignore them and just type!

I seldom use the suggestions and just type away. Using a device that forced suggestions is horrible as I have to retype whole words often. That BB10 approach sounds sonewgat better, though. (Personally, a landscape keyboard would help me more)
