Problem: when a user turns on a new Jolla device for the first time, only few official Jolla applications are pre-installed. The user needs to open the Jolla Store and install them manually (Maps, Mail, Calendar etc....).

Proposed solution: these applications should come preinstalled with every new device. If in the mean time any updates are made available, Jolla should check for updates during the first (possibly WiFi) connection and ask to the user if he/she wants to upgrade these applications.

To be honest I love the fact that there's almost nothing preinstalled, so I can decide what I need/want ... maybe a switch at first set up would help so user can decide whether the phone comes up "empty" or with a default preinstall of apps ...

I agree that some of the 'Jolla Essentials' should come on new devices. Clock, Calendar, Calculator and Mail for certain. Notes, Media, etc should be optional. Exchange support and Android Support should always be optional.

The only thing that is annoying is that you must download them from the Internet. It would be good if they would already reside on device and in wizard you could choose if you want to use them (in other words do you want to remove them).

I think that's a feature, not a problem... I love the possibility to choose which core applications you want to install in the initial wizard, this is a very unlike feature!

I don't remember to have seen this wizard when I turned on my device. Really. Not a huge "bug" in any case.

It comes after you register for a jolla account or log in. In addition to that, separating as much as you feasibly into store means that you can easier roll out updates of Jolla applications. Certification and other typical blockers for update rollout covers only what comes on the device.

Mmmh, so then I may have spotted a bug. I already had a Jolla account, and I couldn't put it in when the device first asked for it (it kept ending the process without actually adding it to the accounts of the device) so I skipped it (skip for now option or something like that).

I played a bit with the device, then tried again, and succeded, but no wizard came up. I installed the apps I wanted manually from the store.
