The UI is too confusing for average users

The biggest problems when I let someone play with my Jolla:

1) The notification area (Swipe from bottom up). The user usually always gets there by accident and have no idea what happened and how to get back. The user gives the device back to me. Still happens for me sometimes, too (open the notification area by accident).

2) Swiping the active application to switcher is not discoverable enough due to the cross-fade effect. Why isn't this implemented like it was in N9? The cross-fade is "cool", but not usable.

When handing jolla to a friend for first time use starting the tutorial app might help if yu're not in a tour guide mood, worked fine last time

What about explaining these features and the Sailfish concept to these users instead of complaining about the UI in general? Of course cross-fade is cool and of course it is usable ;). I don't want to miss any of the Sailfish UI features anymore. Of course everybody has to learn 5 minutes how it works and after short time it is fast to use and all other UI concepts are simply old-fashioned. (As well the N9 UI which I was using since day 1 of the N9 release ;) )

how about unticking that box 'send out email notifications' when fixing typos? 3 emails in 2 minutes will spam trigger tjc for gmail soon

Hey... sorry for that ;). However you could say that more friendly... I was not aware that correcting typos will send again and again a notification... Sometimes simply the auto-correction of this tool is making mess in the text box... Two options now for me: Reading properly before saving or trying to find out were to untick sending notifications ;)... And btw, my mailbox has a delete button ;)

sorry didn't mean to sound rude/harsh, but had to unsub from few cool topics already, the checkbox shows fine for me, maybe tjc suggestion to make it disabled by default then would make sense, edit: my bad about it is opt in for opt out, check in for minor edit to not send out emails, still should be ticked by default
