As I understand, the wind meter uses the compass to register how fast the propeller spins. therefore it should work, if you get the app installed.
stoffix ( 2014-04-02 18:35:40 +0200 )editJust installed the app but the map doesn't work without 'Google Play Services'. I'll borrow my friends wind meter and see if the measuring part works. We will probably not see a native version of this because Vaavud aren't planning to release a Windows version either.
Wizah ( 2014-04-04 12:45:48 +0200 )editHave you tested this yet?
stoffix ( 2014-08-16 20:02:58 +0200 )edit@Wizah: You can test if it works with the magnetometer using an app like Messwerk. If it shows the "three sinusoidal signals" mentioned in the FAQ, all that remains is to either get the company's app working or to write you own app (maybe after they released the SDK).
dthierbach ( 2014-11-15 20:17:10 +0200 )editJust as a side note: You could also connect to a lots of measuring instruments via the i2c interface. In my opinion this would even allow to create a mobile weather station, which uses Jolla as the data gathering/viewing device.
