Swipe right and swipe left allow to come back to multitask view in all cases except when app-launcher is displayed.

Moreover when many applications are installed you have to scroll up and up to come back to multitasking view. This is also the same issue to view battery or network levels. Such feature will increase consistency of user interface.

But such feature will need to find another way to implement shortcuts to favorite ambiences. I suggest pulley menu from lock screen to get access to a specific page containing favorite ambiences.

Folders would help greatly I am sure. Let's see what the Jolla sailors come up with though.

Launcher doesn't at the moment have a any action associated to the from-out-to-in gesture. Only Home and lock-screen have the swipe to favorite ambiances.

So it should be possible to have the peek and go to Home (multitasking) working on the launcher. I have tried to use the peek on the launcher myself to see the time. For me this would be quite intuitive.

At very first alpha releases there was a pully menu at the bottom of the last page of launcher which went to home. I liked that idea.

To come back to multitasking view, you can do two swipes from bottom up (the first to go to the notification screen and the second to go to the multitasking view). It can be done fast.

I'm not confortable with this proposal since it changes the behaviour of the swipe up. Left and right swipes will add consistency with swipes from any app.

What behaviour change are you talking about? This is not a proposal, the swipe up behaviour is the same since the very beginning: wherever you are, it opens the Events view where you can see various notifications. Try it.

You are right. It does the job. But if you just want to have a look at the battery level or the network level, you loose your current page. A partial solution would have to put battery level and network levels in the notification page.

Anyway I dislike it because the swipe left and right gestures depend on the current displayed page. This is not intuitive.

And that the same for the double swipe up. I would prefer it to leave the current displayed page. If I am in the lock screen, I would like it to restore the lock screen and not the multitasking view.

Long ways to scroll up is indeed a weakness in the gesture and pulley menu paradigm of Sailfish.

As for alternative placing of Ambiances: Intuitively I searched for them in Settings , after that in Gallery . Then I searched the web on how to do it and found that favorite Ambiances can be set from the multi task screen. Now that I have set up some favorites , I constantly bring up Ambiance screen unintentionally.

I feel the Ambiances should live in the gallery app and the favorites in the pulley menu of the multi tasking screen.
