Jolla received some nice new camera features during the march 2014 Ohijärvi update. However the camera app could be eventually developed further by for example adding new functionalities, like the panorama photo mode.

Panorama photo mode would be a nice little addition to camera app, especially when taking scenery pictures.

I feel the same! There are a lot of open-source solutions for manual stitching, and also some for auto-stitching. Check out Hugin! http://hugin.sourceforge.net/

To take a panorama: tap to start - move camera around (according to guides on screen) - tap to finish - panorama is ready.

There was panorama app in N9 and I hope there would be some kind of app coming for Jolla too via Jolla Store. Perhaps it could be this time implemented even as a part of native camera features later.

Alternatively panorama photo mode could be available as separate panorama photo app.

I think a separate photo app would be nice as a creative tool. Pack panorama, effects, etc in that. If I want to use the plain camera, I would choose the other existing app. This prevents clogging up with too much features in one app.

I didn't realise buying my phone that such a simple feature as panoramic photos wasn't ALREADY a basic function! I really use this on a regular basis, I'm an outdoors kind of bloke, biking,walking,fishing and I'm really disappointed in that function not being available, I had no idea you could get a separate app so I'll have to check out android apps then for now :(

@davekelly I wouldn't say that panorama is "basic function". Creating good, seamless panoramas isn't easy. The N9 app wasn't very good at it. I'd be happy with a panorama-assist-tool, which helps you to fix focus, lighting and helps you to take multiple overlapping photos. Then use specialized tools like Hugin to stich them together the correct way.

I have the feature on a cheap chinese android costing £125, it needs to have this basic function to compete, it's that simple.
