Some apps install background agents (daemons) to provide service, even if "the app", actually the UI part of it, has been closed, e.g. no cover visible. This makes of course sense, e.g. Mitäkuuluu needs to monitor for incoming messages. I would like to have some control over it, at least understand the current status.

  • Which apps do this? (also to recognize rogue apps)
  • Which apps (UI) need to stay in the multitasking view (homescreen) to provide service?
  • Which app installed agents are running currently?
  • Will those agents be re-started after a reboot, or do I have to start the app one time to trigger this?

Is there any way / tools to check this? If not, this is a feature request:

  • A list of running agents / daemons (name of corresponding app)
  • Will it re-start after reboot?
  • Option to shutdown
  • Optional: CPU footprint (e.g. % during last 24 hours)
  • Optional: used data volume during last 24h

This view could be somewhere under "Settings" as it is not so often needed, mainly after the installation of a new app.

I like that request! Something similar available in Android (under Settings) would be fantastic. That's something a future, more mature Sailfish OS should include.
