I know there is a thread about making the lockscreen customizable which was originally dedicated only to this very topic. It has a very long answer from Jaako Roppola that basically says it's very complicated and also not a good request (feel free to explain if I misread that). Well I am guessing/hoping that putting only the date on the lockscreen, without making it customizable, is much less complicated and I'm convinced it would make a lot of people's day to reduce the number of actions necessary to see the date from 2-5 to 1. Hence, this thread shell provide the possibility to vote on this single enhancement, and hopefully take away a good excuse to put off work on the lockscreen ;-P Get voting, all people who can never remember today's date! Note that this is not a duplicate of this question, because lockscreen of course I mean what you see when you wake up the phone by double tapping the screen or pressing the lock button.

The lockscreen on my HTC displays the Time, Date, Location and Temp along with a graphic display of the weather ie Sun, Cloud, Cloud & Rain etc.

I find this so handy that I really miss it when I use my Jolla.

But is this really necessary as date is the first thing on the pulley menu of the lockscreen... do you really need it ON the lockscreen itself?

@bennypr0fane, it has been asked before: http://together.jolla.com/question/12694/display-current-date-below-time-in-lock-screen/. :) This is a duplicate.

@juiceme, I think it's not only about the lock screen: If the date was also shown where the time is now, it could be checked by peeking from any app (like the time can be now).

From a utility perspective having the date time etc on the lock screen would be quick & easy. I am so used to using the single button press to open and close the screen I don't have to go anywhere else to access this information, I don't bother with the double tap.

By the way, you can already have the date on the lock screen with Patchmanager / PandoraBox (from OpenRepos). But it is only on the lock screen, not peakable from applications.
