Today I had a really weird issue:

I got the "Charge your phone" message while the phone was on about 18% - normally it appears only if on 10% or lower. I was suprised about that and connected my Jolla to the charger until it was fully loaded. But even after it was at 100% the message popped up every 10 to 30 seconds. The next strange thing I was noticing: the battery indicator was at 0% and a minute or two later the phone just shut down. I took out the battery after that for over 10 minutes. After turning it on it was showing me 98%, first all was ok, but than the strange behaviour begun right after starting the Android VM (WhatsApp). This time I even had a message "your battery is cold, take your phone inside" (this is just translated as I'm using my phone in german), a few moments later it shut down itself once more. Now, since turning it on again and not starting any of the Android apps all is working fine.

Does someone here had a similar, if not the same situation?

I have seen about 5 reboots or shutdowns in the last ~10 days, and they seem to be related to battery info being screwed up. The battery jumps from 40% to single-digit then reboots to 33%, stuff like that. Just now I went out with battery claiming 33%, before I got back the phone rebooted twice and gone down to about 7% -- in about 40 minutes, just playing songs.

Does the phone beep when you get the message to charge your phone?

I've been getting this a lot recently as well. Phone says the battery charge is at 60%, launch an app, phone does insta-reboot and after that the same thing just keeps happening - unless I wait before trying, whatever it was I was doing, again. If I keep trying, the phone does insta-reboot at the same point every time but the battery charge level goes wild: first it says 60%, after one or two insta-reboots it may say e.g. 4% and then, after another insta-reboot, we're back at 59%.

The only pattern I have been able to detect here so far is that it seems to always happen when the CPU/other resource use peaks (such as when launching an app or exactly at the moment you're taking a photo). It kind of seems to me like the phone would need more power than the hardware can provide, and that results in an insta-reboot, but that is pure speculation.

Just now, when I'm writing this, I'm in a situation where the phone just spontaneously shut down at 33% battery charge (according to the device), refuses to start up from the power button and does not start charging the battery when plugged in (to a regular power outlet, not USB).

Edit: I just removed the battery, put it back in and connected the phone to a charger - did nothing else - and the phone started recharging.
