BBM messenger no longer works since update to 1.0.7.16

Since the update to SailfishOS 1.0.7.16, the Android BBM messenger exits immediately after starting it. Before the update it worked fine, all other Android apps I tried still work fine. I tried removing all Android apps and Android support, cleaned up the dalvik files as in http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1406350 - nothing helps.
Is there a way to start an Android app in alien dalvik with debug output so see what goes wrong?

This definitely appears to be an issue related to the latest Sailfish update.
After downloading BBM, the login splash screen loads fine, but after entering the login details, the app crashes and will not open.
