Icons, Symbols and VKB keys gone after update... help?

Ahoi Sailors, After having updated to Saapunki today, I visited Warehouse and Jolla Store for updates, added two repos and uninstalled the Terminal UI app. Meanwhile, the UI behaved strange, no more displaying the signs next to the clock (mobile data/wlan, silent, network strength, bt), showing only the toggles for flightmode, bt, wlan and mobile data in the settings menu but not the corresponding symbols, and also making the Caps and Backspace buttons blank in the VKB. Also, the browser doesn't show the "back", "favorite", "reload" and "forward" buttons anymore.
I could not assign folder symbols to the newly created folders, although I was allowed to choose from a lot of empty choice tiles. When trying to send pictures via Mitäkuuluu, I find myself overwhelmed by masses of folder symbols (which don't seem to be stored in the Gallery folder), so they must exist somewhere.
My Jolla is hardly usable (only my knowledge of what's been where is helping me now), and I don't want to give up on such a nice device and system... Please help me, hopefully without resetting...
