[App Request] Native GUI SSH Client
Hi,
the thing I'm missing is a Native SSH Client for Sailfish, yes I know I could put on the dev mode and use the finger terminal and SSH with it but I don't want to run Jolla on dev mode all the time. And the finger terminal is missing features I'd like to have on my SSH client, changing the color scheme for one, I don't know if finger terminal has url recognition but that's one other thing I'd like to have on my SSH Client. Currently I'm using the Irssi ConnectBot which is excellent but it's Android app. Also I don't know if this is the correct forum to put app request but I saw couple of other ones which didn't get instantly flamed so i put this here. :)
- brc
openssh if possible ...

In terms of the SSH client itself, what's bundled with Sailfish is superior than _anything_ else out there, since it's the client that OpenBSD does. Not sure what else you need, colour schemes, URL recognition, and so on are terminal features, and I hate to be negative but I don't think that OpenBSD folks have time to make an "app" for that.
FWIW, the way SSH is handled in Android and iOS is rubbish (e.g., old ciphers, potential security issues, potential "call home" routines).

ApB ( 2014-06-12 11:55:17 +0200 )editWorth considering - MOSH - http://mosh.mit.edu/
Mosh (mobile shell) Remote terminal application that allows roaming, supports intermittent connectivity, and provides intelligent local echo and line editing of user keystrokes.
richardski ( 2014-06-12 14:43:31 +0200 )editSure, a terminal with color schemes would also be great, which ever is more likely/easy/secure, open access to terminal without dev mode(in which case i'd have to start twisting fingerterm's developer's arm to add support for color schemes and URL recognition to it), or a GUI SSH Client with those features. And yes, mosh is something to consider, I just have to convince my server admin to install the server, there's a serious case of change resistance there, everything new seems to be crap, I hear.. :)
I also tried out the mosh version of irssi connectbot (http://dan.drown.org/android/mosh/) but i get an error when trying to connect to server:
mosh binary install failed/untar: java.io.IOException: write failed: EPIPE (Broken pipe)
any ideas anyone?
