Another method than MTP [duplicate]
MTP isn't exactly known to be the most open and best format for tranferring files. It's nice having it as an option, and even okay having it default considering most are using Windows.
But I think we should be given the option for something different / more open than MTP to transfer our files. I really had to default back to developer mode and scp to get my files transferred (in linux), and that as a default method to transfer files isn't really a good one.
do work reliably: rsync, sshfs, mc (connect to server)
mtp is for very small files, small transfers (or it takes forever and is often interrupted)

Sfiet_Konstantin ( 2013-12-28 16:16:08 +0200 )editno, imho not a duplicate. though i don't see the need for something else.
no need to make this any more complex

jsiren ( 2013-12-28 16:36:55 +0200 )editYes, probably a duplicate. I didn't find it when searching though .. interesting. @AL13N I don't think so. I know what I'm doing, and I certainly could use dev mode. But I don't want to, since it's way easier having it just as a mass storage.
