Not even to clarify, unify, retag, close as duplicate, ...?

It is feasible. Anything other is disrespectful and condescending.

llornkcor ( 2013-12-28 15:34:12 +0300 )edit

a three days discussion about a small edit can be much more condescending than a gentle grammar edit that hurts noone.

clarifications can be made in comments, original author can amend based upon that. retags are not editing content or context of post. Closing as duplicate is not changing content or context.

Let's stay open and allow all editing - but it's better to mark the original text (not delete) and give a reason for the edit, leaving the original writer a change to fix it (and remove edits, if she/he considers that reasonable)

@llornkcor I agree there should be some set of rules, where certain actions are allowed. For example I imagine someone could make a tag please-dont-edit if he doesn't want other person to edit his post/question.
