Fullscreen playback for youtube videos
Would be great to be able to watch youtube videos in fullscreen (possibly landscape), currently they look small in the stock browser.

I wrote a video player which is capable of watching youtube videos aswell in landscape mode: https://openrepos.net/content/llelectronics/lls-video-player In its current state unfortunately I don't think it will be approved for the harbour.
There is now landscape support in browser which should make things better ;)
software version 1.0.3.8, Naamankajärvi
Are there plans to have a real video player UI in the browser like in iOS and Android, so that while the video can be viewed on the page, there is also a full screen button on the player?

I think this is connected with the general landscape mode in browser request. Once it is there, the FS playback in browser will be natural.
zlatko ( 2013-12-28 15:54:39 +0300 )Not necessarily. The video streaming playback can be done in its own window instead of the browser, so it doesn't require the full landscape mode. Plus, even if the browser is in landscape, depending on the page the video may be scaled to less than the screen and you may not have the option to zoom.
Bale ( 2013-12-28 15:58:26 +0300 )YouTube videos at least at the YouTube site in Sailfish browser are scaled to the full width of the page. There are problems though, like sometimes the share/whatever buttons remain on top of the video even when it's playing.
