Android™ support update for 1.0.7.16/1.0.7.18? [answered]
I just received an update for Android™ support. I haven't seen any release notes about it so can we have a quick info on what it updates and what should we expect from it?
Thanks

The changelog of the rpm says changes for timezone implementation in aliendalvik.
rpm -q --changelog aliendalvik
- Mon Jun 16 2014 Jalen Zheng jalen.zheng@myriadgroup.com 0.11.5-2
- Promote the implementation to get correct timezone all the time. JB#20448
Thanks. Didn't even occur to me to check the rpm changelog - the Jolla Store app should have a pulley menu to read the official rpm changelogs, although many publishers don't write them. Or at least some other facilities that would better convey update messages to the user.

There also seems to be a bug with this update: https://together.jolla.com/question/47418/bug-latest-android-support-update-created-icon-in-launcher/
nthn ( 2014-06-17 23:17:43 +0200 )edit@nthn, noticed it as well and as @mvdm suggested - it went away after a reboot. I wanted to wait to get an official info on what the update changes but my curiosity got the better of me so I went through with the update.
Apart from that 'icon bug', the Android apps are working as before and I haven't noticed any difference - except that I had to again change one of the android hosts files (
incognito ( 2014-06-17 23:24:10 +0200 )edit/opt/alien/system/etc/hosts
). Don't know why it needs to mess up my hosts files with each update, the main one at/etc/hosts
doesn't get affected even after a full blown system update (nor it should). Oh, well...For me there is no FW update to .18
torcida ( 2014-06-18 01:23:30 +0200 )edit@torcida, don't hold me on this one, but I think that you get .18 when you opt-in for the connman hotfix.
