Previous page indicators should take up less space (when there are many) [released]
When going a few pages deep into an application, the white dots on the upper left quickly take up most of the display's width, eventually interfering with the headline of the page. I suggest to have a maximum width for those paging indicators of e.g. 1/3 of the total width. If exceeded, the dots can be moved closer together and even overlapping each other.
If someone dives that deep into a page structure, they probably don't mind whether there are 15 or 20 pages above; but actually, the shining dots are very well suited for condensed display, as the simplified examples below show. (Even when condensed very much and overlapping, you can still tell that you are on the 5th page.)
I know that to avoid this, application developers are asked to consider replacing pages of the stack instead of just pushing them, but there are cases in which this just does not make sense, e.g. when pages are used to navigate within the directory tree, it would be very confusing if users could not go back to the superior directory level.
