Most of the modern Android apps have the "back" key inside itself at top left corner, such as Google play client or Foursquare etc. Since the "multitasking" key in Android Navigation bar is in no use under Sailfish, and the "back" key often can be used inside app, the black bar therefore can be hided similar to Android sideload in BB10. Android applications thus can run in full screen.

Apologise if this is duplicated, I did searched but didn't find any relevant posts.

I think this will come in the next update, at least I recall reading that it will then be possible to show all Android apps as covers on the home screen so the Android navbar will be of less use.

I doubt if the new update will take away the nav bar. (will be glad if Jolla do) The separate screen android app will be very likely just the cover screenshot of Android app that were previously running. VM's behaviour or appearance won't affected.

Not all Android apps do have back buttons, however I support the option to be able to hide the Android navigation bar on selected apps eg. via a menu entry under Settings.

Haven't tried Android apps under Blackberry 10. How is the navigation bar hidden? Am I able to get it quickly shown if needed?

@Louis Just for your information under BB10 you can hide/unhide back key by swiping from top edge of the screen. (It's the default option gesture in BB10) On BB10.3.2 there is even option of changing DPI, choose from either default, tablet mode (DPI down) and game mode (4:3) on my passport. Very clever design.
