When stand-by, Jolla notifies the availability of new, unread e-mail by blinking a yellow notification light. But when the e-mail(s) are read and/or deleted elsewhere, say on desktop, the notification remains. I.e. the notification has become stale.

Now, when checking the phone, I can't tell whether I've already read the e-mail or there actually is a new e-mail. It can be confusing too: the notification signals a new e-mail, but when checking the e-mail app there's nothing to report, since the e-mail has been read or deleted already.

Request: turn off the notification if the reason of notification is no more, i.e. if the e-mail for which the notification was intended is read or deleted elsewhere.

AFAIK not all account types would support this, but at least IMAP would allow this.

This works like that in the next sync notification will be removed, what you probably asking for is always up to date aka IMAP IDLE, for that there's: https://together.jolla.com/question/493/imap-idle-imap-push-for-the-e-mail-app/

No, I'm not specifically asking for IMAP IDLE. In my test the notification was not removed on the next sync. Should that happen in 1.0.7? (Didn't test it in 1.0.8)

Should happen since first SW release, at least I'm not aware of bugs related to that, unless is something new, appreciate if you can test again and report back the exact steps.

It's a mixed experience. With a sample space of 1 (the mail I just got) the blinking indeed stopped, but the cover of the mail app still reports "1 unread message". The mail app itself reports one unread message, but alas, there is none. Restarting the app fixed it, that is, it reports no unread messages. I'm running SailfishOS 1.0.8)
