It seems I found a bug in the browser.

Reproduction:

  1. Start the browser and load 2 different websites (by opening 2 tabs)
  2. Close the browser
  3. Start the browser
  4. Immediately (before it can load the websites) tap to the tabs button
  5. Browser exits

It easier to reproduce on a slow network. After the websites are loaded the browser works normally.

I think it has something to do with memory overload

Thanks for reporting.

I was able to replicate this with update8. We have since done some robustness improvements on our start up code and are going to also update the browser engine, and with these fixes in the development version I'm no longer seeing this problem.

hi. I want to add that i see broswer crash in the following situation: 1. Connect to a wifi network that asks for web authentication 2. After inputting the credentials and authentication is ok, the browser will crash. When launching the browser again and clicking the TABS icon, browser will crash. So browsing through wifi with web based authentication is not possible.
