I have a strange problem, I copied some videos I took from my camera connected to PC and the files were converted to wmv on copying over the phone. and in the gallery it says oops, can not show thumbnail and when I manage to play it, it basically just shows some random still photos. I am not sure how to go about getting the videos to run properly. is wmv not the right format? or I didn't copy in the correct location?

I'm not really much of a developer. could you or someone guide me how to compile vlc player. I saw someone writing that vlc can be used

What format does the camera save in? I think my Canon Ixus saves 720p video in .mp4 files so they will probably work directly without any conversion. I should try that.

@Manzer VLC is great but not one of the easiest. You might want to try e.g. "Any Video Converter" (free)
