After running the media player I find that the SD card has been littered with directories called .mediaartlocal how do I stop this happening?

I keep the music on my SD card synchronised with the collection on my laptop and I don't want to have to synchronise meta data junk each time as it would pollute my collection and it hides the real changes making it harder to notice mistakes.

Technically it isn't the media player but something called 'tracker', which indexes your files, that creates these directories. I don't think there is a way to stop tracker from creating these directories, save for not indexing that directory, but of course if you don't index the Music directory nothing will show up in the media player.

The Meego version of tracker doesn't do this, I don't have this problem with my N9. I'm guessing that all the data was put in a db in the home directory, a choice I would much prefer.
