Contact image/avatar too large on call screen
Usually contact images are in square format. On the call screen, they are used as fullscreen background, which means they are scaled to fit the height of the display, which most often results in a fullscreen face with the left and right side of the head cropped. IMHO it is not very aesthetic to cut away parts of faces of friends.
What about scaling the image to fit display width, applying a gradient to transparency at the top and bottom of the image, and positioning it somewhere on the call screen where no buttons etc are. This way, UI elements on the screen would also have the same good contrast always, no matter which contact image is displayed.
The option to scale and crop a contact image would be very helpful for the images that get downloaded automatically from Facebook or Google. There are no problems if the profile picture is vertical or the contact is in the center of a horizontal picture. But if the picture is horizontal and a person is not in the center, then the person simply does not appear on the calling screen.
