Bug: no volume slider in lockscreen
I just realized that the volume slider isn't displayed on the lockscreen, i.e. the slider that appears for system volume when the volume rocker is pushed. It''s only displayed in multitaksing view and in the app grid, and in apps of course.
It was a bug allowing device unlocking by volume keys and was fixed in some update.

The situation I had before was that I went from 'sound off' to 'sound on' with the pulley menu on lock screen - and the volume slider would'nt work, only in app view, so I couldn't turn up the ring tone. And now it works even with the screen off... strange. Can't replicate the old behaviour. Let's file it under freak accident.
