I don't know what's wrong with my Jolla :( The battery life is really bad and i can't find out what's causing it, it has been like that now over a month. The battery lasts about 10-11 hours and then i haven't done any calls, just some time checking and Facebook but mostly it stays in my pocket because I work ;). I ran the csd tool today and got some fails on the smart cover test. 3 out of 5 test failed, smart card interrupt: failed, I2C device id: failed and enable 5V charge: failed. Can this have anything to do with the weird battery drain??.

I have tried factory reset but that doesn't help. Tried to don't use mitakuluu, didn't notice any changes.

Does anyone know what can cause this or does anyone else have the same problem??

Maybe the phone is broken, haven't had it for a long time about a half year.

Any ideas??

Check with one of the cpu monitors or just top if something is keeping your cpu busy and drain power.

Are you using the Wi-Fi hotspot? You have to reboot after usage because it doesn't close properly and drains the battery.

ok, Sthocs answer makes sense. I have recently started to use the wifi hotspot always in the mornings, to get my tablet connected to internet. Time wise it fits when I started to get the problem with battery drain. Let's see if this will solve the problem :) I hope they will fix that bug!

I've also witnessed occasional high battery drain, which also seems to be related to wi-fi hotspot usage (although I'm quite certain that I've had it occasionally without using the hotspot). Last witnessed today and after using hotspot for a while with Jolla in charger, it drained 50% of my battery in 6 hrs. With lighthouse there is nothing very unusual. But I can confirm that rebooting fixes it always.

FIx would be nice, as this is about the only reason I need to reboot my phone :)

You're welcome :) There might be a way to shut it down using the terminal if you want to avoid rebooting but I haven't searched. Otherwise you can track the issue here: http://together.jolla.com/question/39605

Have you tried cleaning Battery PINs with a piece of soft cotton?

I also recommend that - cleaning the metal dust away can improve battery life as well as performance.

@caprico, metal dust... seriously?

Okw ( 2014-10-13 11:20:36 +0300 )edit

@Okw - Sorry, wrong translation ;-) No there isn't any dust (good there isn't!). I meant the matt looking layer on top of the metal contacts - I assume corrosion.

Yes, it's the wifi hotspot that stays on even if I turn it off. No problem with battery drain any more, just have to remember to restart the phone after using the wifi hotspot. Thanks for the help! :)
