Long hold on app gives the possibility to remove (X) the app or to drag it to another place on the screen. Could the same be applied to covers on the Homescreen? X is already used for closing the app, while with dragging the cover could be moved and change place.

Firstly, this would serve few purposes, as the latest open app will still slide to the front, messing up the order that has been set up. Secondly, how would you drag them up and down? You couldn't drag them down because this would pull down the pulley menu.

Maybe pinning covers would suffice?

Currently there is at the most 9 of them so need to manually re-arrange them.
