I'm a bit surprised actually that no-one else has started an attempt at this, but better late then never.

I am interested in trying to make an OH that "ruggedizes" my jolla (after I broke my gorilla glass dropping my phone), most popular phones have things like otterbox to protect them but so far we have almost nothing.

An OH like this could possibly also feature a 'socket' to place a lens over the lens (like with the cd-rom macro lens) and/or a socket for an OLED expansion, could have the magnets to be compatible with the new keyboard extension Dirk is working on etc...

It seems to me there are lots of options since the ruggedizer anyhow changes the form/size of the phone and makes it bigger, am interested if other people are interested (maybe FunkyOH want to pick this up?) and what type of things the think can/should be combined with a Rugged OH....

The lastu wallet is great in business settings but is it also good for the heavy duty abuse a phone may get in first response, tactical, hiking scenarios etc...

The lastu cases (at least according to the pictures) let the phone stick out beyond the case material, they protect the screen but not the phone, a rugged case is something like otterbox or element recon or some of the no-name rugged shells for phones....

Correct. But it protects at least the left long side of the phone and of course the screen face too. My Jolla has survived some stupid drop thanks to it.

The non-slippery OH is definitely a step in the right direction, with some work it can probably be modified into a rugged case... But I tend to agree with teun.
