Android service autostop/timer
Since the Android service seems to drain the battery and reserve resources, it would be nice if the user could set a time period after which the Android service would autostop if it has been unused/idle.
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

Hi,
thank you for your suggestion by email. Unfortunately this is not possible, since currently daemons are not allowed in Jolla Harbour applications.
If the situation changes I will consider doing this.
How about making a separate version of KillDroid for Openrepos?
jjhuopa ( 2014-10-30 15:39:17 +0300 )Yes that is an option. Though in my opinion this sort of stuff should be handled by Profilematic kind of app like we had in the beloved Nokia N9.
Hopefully Profilematic is done someday for Jolla too.
rooster13 ( 2014-10-30 15:42:44 +0300 )If you want you can try to use this package: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17706605/Jolla1/autokilldalvik-0.1-3.armv7hl.rpm I created it a few months ago for personal use. Some stuff you need to know:
Default checking time is every 30 min. You can change it by running this command as ROOT, for example to 45 min:
echo 45m > /usr/share/openrepos-autokilldalvik/time
or you can do the same by editing this file in ROOT filemanager (filetug, cargo dock etc..)
Doesn't seem to work on 1.1.0.39. KillDroid shows service is still running after 30 mins without use..
jjhuopa ( 2014-10-31 11:02:45 +0300 )check if com.skype.raider run or not. if yes, kill it and wait to the checking time. I didn't install last update, waiting for official release...
Schturman ( 2014-10-31 11:42:25 +0300 )hmm.. weird.. Probably problem because of system update. When I'll updste my phone I'll check this stuff..
