@Jolla: will the next device offer backwards compatibility with current other halves? [not relevant]

EDIT: okay - let me rephrase this, as I would love to see this question actually answered by Jolla (as opposed to having another user-only discussion or being closed as a duplicate of a user-only discussion).

There does not seem to be any official statement regarding backwards compatibility of TOH size and interfaces for future devices.

As several other halves are available now, and (fingers crossed) they keyboard other half is about to be crowdfunded soon, it would be good to know for users and other half developers whether current TOHs will be usable with the next generation of Jolla devices.

Thanks for the heads-up, I haven't seen that one; however it is marked as a duplicate (IMO it is not) of the one I mentioned in the edit above, which is rather a user discussion about whether or not there should be backwards compatibility. But this one asks for an official statement, not for user opinions. Anyway, I guess the answer to this question is "No, there is no official statement". Which is sad, as it definitely will keep me from buying an Other Half.

Sorry but do you expect them to answer a question about future plans. And apart from that TOH is a product you buy for the current phone.

Yes, and when the guy in the other question asks "will the next Jolla support the same TOH dimensions and connection placements?", he obviously asks the question to Jolla as only them have the answer (and they probably won't give it here). So it still looks like a duplicate.
