I went to edit my contacts and add a second phone to a contact. The virtual keyboard did not have 0-key (only keys 1-9)! I refocused the text field and keyboard with more keys appeared. I had the same issue happen with Danskebank Android banking app for key code input (I used Note application to write the code there and copy-pasted it to the unco-operating text edit field).

I'm using Uitukka 1.1.0.39 - I played at editing some contacts, but didn't have the problem you have. I edited a few different fields, but the keypad/keyboard displayed as it should.

Perhaps to restart maliit server using terminal. Maliit is the keyboard service, you can restart it by doing this; (you will need to be root, 'devel-su')

killall maliit-server Enter.

Exit terminal and try editing your contacts again. It may sort it, it may not, but is worth a try.

Now, I went to add another phone number and the keyboard was fine. When it was not functioning properly the whole bottom row had blank keys.

I accidentally converted this to an answer.
