After having selected "Always" when choosing a specific app for a specific type (e.g. PDF), there does not seem to be a way to reset that choice (stored inside /data/system/packages.xml) because Alien Dalvik doen't have an "Android settings app" (why??) which would allow this solution: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/43135/how-to-change-the-default-application-for-android-tasks/

@cocof2001 Thanks for the link! If you make that an answer, I'll accept it. I also took the manual route editing packages.xml.

There is an android application called Default App Manager. The application does not help to remove, just to see what are the defaults. When you try to remove the default link you will get unsupported action.

There is another thread in here about this and there is a solution provided: https://together.jolla.com/question/28031/unable-to-change-default-app-setting-for-android-apps/
