SIM card not detected : Invalid MCC

I have purchased a Jolla phone, from snapdeal.com, your India partner. Everything works fine, except that it does not detect my Micro SIM card properly. The SIM card is detected properly on my Motorola Razr phone, which I am using now.

When I go to settings -> Mobile networks, It is showing as "Registering". I am unable to select mannual operator selection either.

I am using BSNL as my service provider. It is an indian provider. All nokila phones are fully supported by BSNL, so I assume Jolla too.

I tried the CSD tool, and selected individual test -> SIM card

Results :

Cellular modem available : true SIM present : true Card identifier : 89917............. (Shows full identifier) MCC : MNC : Subscriber identity : Subscriber numbers : Invalid MCC Fail (in red color)

In other words, items after card identifier are blank.

Suggestions, please

Thanks everyone for suggestions. Based on your suggestions, I tried with another micro-SIM from BSNL itself, and it works. I think replacing my SIM card will work.

I am still not sure about the base problem, as my SIM card is working with other phones.

Hi,

I bought one from SD too. Works fine. Try to use a different network card and check first. If it works, the it is the service provider issue. Also, use the automatic network selection option and see.

My Airtel MicroSIM got recognized without any issues and works well.

I cut my Airtel SIM down with a pair of scissors to the microSIM size with no problems.

I just used a knife to shape my old card to fit. Works well for me. If you have the solution you need to reply to @sajithvk who is having the problem.
