I really hate having to shove a micro-usb into things to charge them as the connector isn't the greatest thing in the world. I'd very much like the tablet to have a Qi charging if possible.

Great idea, I would definitely use this.

I would love for something like this in, goodness only knows it's been a lifesaver for my Jolla phone!

Doesn't have to be wireless. Any kind of quick dock would be enough.

My current tablet (Nexus 7 2013) supports Qi charging and I love it. I've also invested in the chargers (sunk cost) so any replacement tablet must have Qi charging - no way am I going back to USB cables all over the place. Jolla, Qi charging support is an absolute must for the tablet (and an official Qi TOH for the phone is also long overdue).

I also recommend adding Qi support, makes producing docks and holders much easier.

Qi sounds appealing, but is a severe waste of energy with it's typical efficiency factor far below 80% compared to wired charging.

Minor nuisance compared to the ease of use Qi brings and you don't have to worry about USB port breaking due to too much of pluging in and out when you use it only to connect to computer.

True, USB B Micro is a real problem, breaks easily and besides has a critically small soldering area.

Best solution would be a magnetic adapter plug, but such a thing doesn't unfortunately exist.

Jolla Roadmapping Meeting - Friday 16.01.2015

Thank you for your contribution to the Jolla Tablet project!

We receive a lot of ideas and suggestions, which we are grateful for, but all of them can't be implemented. We've reviewed your idea and unfortunately it is not something we can implement, at least right now.

However, we will keep all suggestions, and might revisit this decision in the future if we see an opportunity to implement this feature-request in an upcoming product/SW release.

Best regards,
The Jolla Tablet Team
