[Request] [Jolla Tablet] Multiple user accounts

It would be great if multiple users could use the same tablet with their own accounts, settings, ambiances etc. All files (photos, videos, documents) could be shared between the users. Each user could setup their own social media and email accounts.
Device notifications could be displayed either for the last logged in user or for all the logged in users. In the case of all logged in users the notifications should be grouped according to each individual user.
How to handle app purchasing and installing with many users? One possible solution could be to either have a master user who does all the app purchasing and installing or to have every user install their own apps without sharing them with other users.
Even on the phone I would like that, I dislike the whole idea that it is known to the world that the username on my device is 'nemo', it should be whatever I set it to be in initial setup and code should never hardcode the users' username.
And being able to give it to someone to just play with without them being able to read my communication is of course a plus.
Keeper-of-the-Keys ( 2014-11-19 13:36:54 +0200 )editI'd prefer if media (especially images and videos, of course) would not be shared - except, maybe, via a "Share with other users on this device" option in the same menu that now handles file sharing. That's not only useful for adults handing their tablets over to their children... It's also not always welcome to 'share' photos of last night's party with whoever has acces to your tablet.
On the other hand, if a true multi-user-environment is too difficult to set up, the option of exactly one restricted guest user would be welcome.

François ( 2014-11-19 15:48:19 +0200 )editI don't think it would be necessary to allow multiple users the ability to install and purchase applications. Simply granting them access to the applications on the phone would be enough, with just one admin/owner account able to do this. Blocking selected applications from certain user accounts may ahve some utility, however.
