It would be awesome if it could support chromecast. e.g send images/videos/whole screen to chromecast.

I personally would prefer a native and superior working UPNP server/service inside the tablet/SailfishOS 2.0. With a tablet you are going to watch videos from your home server or have it on the device and want to resume on your TV. I know that G**gle Chromecast would help here - but it is freaking G**gle here again! In my perspective Chromecast is just an additional sweet - no must have.

That's true, Chromecast is just one way to send media to TV. XBMC/Plex support could also be one choose.. Maybe this is a little "hard" request, in order to serve the needs of everyone equally, because there is so many ways to send content to TV.. But maybe it is better to select one way at the beginning, which satisfy the need for most of the people, and chromecast could be the selection at the beginning. Or maybe this request should be divided into several different ways (UPNP server/Chromecast/XBMC/Plex,ATV...) to send content to your TV, and let people vote :) .

I prefer Matchstick, like chromecast but opensource and with firefoxos. I think it fits more with Jolla's mission to be unlike. Btw matchstick does support chromecast apps so even chromecast support is fine with me.

Yes, matchstick would fit much better with Jolla Open spirit.

We see UPNP/DLNA and Miracast support as a priority in the short term. No plans for chromecast yet.

@sidv upvoted it long time ago ;)

@ApB thanks! :-) Well, I am looking forward to my matchstick and hope that for starters the Android layer just works for the Jolla (tab).

Juhu!!!! These are great news to hear. Really waiting for DLNA support integrated. As long as Chromecast stays Google only/mainly I see now high priority for this. Would be cool to hear what exactly is planned at Jolla already.

I'd prefer leaving companies with privacy invading practices aside and have a clean approach deployed.

Yeah...screencasting through airtame/chromecast etc. would be good, especially if hdmi/vga support (even via accessories) won't be added. It would enable the tablet to be used for making presentations, not just for entertainment.

For me a xbmc/kodi support will do (like - bah - android's yatse sharing mechanism: you find a video on your device's youtube and via sharing the video is shown on xbmc's youtube plugin)
