I want to have bluetooth tethering from my Jolla phone to Jolla tablet instead of wifi tethering, the reason is bluetooth tethering consume less power

It's already available with Tethering app, but I would very much prefer to have it in settings and permanently enabled.

It is a handy feature, however since we already have WLAN tethering and a 3rd party app for Bluetooth tethering, it is not a priority for us. In addition, changes to Bluetooth offering officially would require re-certification of the phone, this would mandate more planning from our end.

Wifi sucks for tethering. In more ways than just the battery consumption. Heck, Wifi sucks in general. Personally I couldn't care less about the certification. The tethering app works fine, but it requires to be active. What @butler said.

Sad to hear. I also just tried to thether from my tablet...I would appreciate this to work but I would not push it as highest priority!

and what about USB tethering? I currently use it to connect with my laptop as it's more efficient than WIFI and other wireless protocol.

You know this is false issue, as you could just build the package and leave it in the mer/nemo repository as a "beta" software until official re-certification. :-)

The third party app announces: bluetooth not supported. My Tomtom navigator wants bluetooth tethering, not wifi-tethering. In some way I would myself put bt-tethering under the heading 'basic connectivity'

Still agree that there are other even more important issues, but would like to see that still landing in SFOS. Actually now is the time for that with the Jolla tablet!
