Talking about partnerships..

Nobody's forcing anyone to buy anything. Even if a partnership would emerge it wouldn't forbid other companies to adopt Sailfish. That would depend on the contract of course, but I don't see why Jolla would do such a thing. A partnership is just a great way to aggregate expertise and create something that the partners couldn't do by themselves.

Don't get me wrong, but any kind of partners will try to keep opponents away. In my eyes nothing that the community get's an benefit. If a company likes the course of Jolla, they can just hop of and create and maintain something great that the community likes. If it's good it will become popular :-)

@ dulog: i din't mean such a partnership in any way at all. Jolla lives on thanks to many different kinds of partnerships who enjoy and support its open platform. This way i imagine some big world known brand such Swatch collaborate with Jolla to build up its next wave of smartwatches' software.

Agree. But i, and i'm not alone, find it useless to build each one its own platform when Apple's one its private and they don't want to go the Google's route. Sailfish it's already a solid platform to play with and these big companies should know by now that the people behind it have pretty some good years of experience. One or two big brands on the Sailfish Alliance bandwagon and others will come. There's not other player around who can offer what Jolla can in terms of openess of the software and the UI. Ubuntu Touch, for example, it's too "ubuntuish". Vodafone, to say another one, is around many of the countries where Jolla is.. they might use Sailfish for their own Smart devices and put their services and content on it without to share anything with Google and without cutting out some of the important apps we are all used to.
