[Improvement] Peek gesture unification [duplicate]
I really appreciate the peek from side gesture to check the various information while using an app. What disturbs me is the current difference between the peek from side (to see the clock and status icons) while in an app and the pull down (to see the same) while in the home screen. In home screen the peek-from-screen-edge gesture opens the ambiance switcher (or also some other stuff in the future releases) while the home screen just fades away. It could be very handy if at the same time as the home screen fades out it also moved down the same way as it does when you switch to an app showing the status area with clock and so on.
In addition the peeking behaviour could be extended to the launcher screen as well which could behave the very same as an opened app. (peek from the screen edge would fade out the launcher while fading in the home screen with the status area shown)
That way the clock and status icons could be checked with the very same gesture throughout the whole UI.
Perfectly agree... The launcher should fade to the status sceren always. The ambience changer should be enabled only in the status/watch screen, This way peek would work the same way anywhere. And the ambience changer would be two swipes away from any point anyway.

Regarding the ambiance switcher. It can just stay where it is. Just the transition effect while opening it could change to reach the goal of doing the same thing the same way at any place.
The peeking in launcher is kind of "nice to have" features. The time spent at the launcher screen is so short, that it is eventually not worth any change. On the other hand sometimes there comes a situation one swipes to the launcher and then he is just unsure "Do I really need to open that app now?" (maybe There's another app providing necessary information already opened, maybe I do not have the necessary connectivity to use the app, maybe my battery is getting empty so I should be more careful, ...)
At such moment the peek gesture could become really handy.

I will try to explain a bit simpler.
You are in an app and swipe slowly from the screen edge. You see the home screen fading in and it's moved a bit down to show the clock and some status icons.
When you are in a home screen and you do exactly the same gesture. The home screen just fades out being covered by the ambiebce switcher. During the fade out it could move just the same way as above to show the clock and icons.
Then your thumb does the same movement anytime and any place you need the same information (clock and status icons)

If you replace the words "the pull down" with the words "the peek from side" then it will be less confusing. Regardless, good suggestion. :)
