Seafile is an open source cloud storage server based on C and Python that can be installed on your own server (Linux and Windows. A special RasPi package is available.) You can also use a server provided by the devs with limit of 1GB storage.

It supports SSL encrypted traffic and is able to store files completely encrypted on the server. It has clients for Linux (cli and gui), OSX and Windows as well as Android and IOS. There is also a webinterface that provides workgroup collaboration and a wiki.

It is also possibly the most appropriately named cloud solution you could wish for your Sailfish OS on your Jolla. So please provide an app for it.

There is also a professional version of the server with advanced document management features, but you'd need to pay for it.

Yes! :-) It would be nice and helpful to have seafile client on Jolla Phones native...

In emphasis of an almost thoroughly European solution.

using sshfs is more linux-way :)

I'd also love a native client. The Android client installs and runs, but is not able to download any file. It throws a "download failed" error, to me.

Seafile should offer a Sailfish client themselves. Let us send them a link to this thread showing the actual demand for it.

I thought the same too - If they can charge for "professional version" why can't they invest in developing a client app on Sailfish?

I think it could work already via WebDAV. According to http://manual.seafile.com/extension/webdav.html the Seafile Server supports WebDAV, it just needs proper configuration. The app "Cargo Dock" (available on Jolla Store) is a good file manager which supports WebDAV (amongst other cloud services like owncloud).

Maybe the Cargo Dock developer could even implement native Seafile support if you kindly ask him or donate something. Here is the Github page of Cargo Dock: https://github.com/pycage/cargodock

they have a linux based CLI sync tool that could be useful

http://www.seafile.com/en/download/

Looks like their linux gui client is Qt Based as well https://github.com/haiwen/seafile-client

Python based CLI client: https://github.com/haiwen/python-seafile
